According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the New York Rangers have been granted permission to speak with Toronto Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins and former Vancouver Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault about their head coaching position. The news comes two days after the Rangers dismissed John Tortorella as their bench boss. The New York Daily News has also reported that former Rangers captain and current special assistant to the GM Mark Messier is also interested in stepping behind the bench.
